My Lash Lift Experience

Wanna know a not-so-fun fact? I’m allergic to lash extensions. I know, I know – terrible, right? I’ve tried them twice in the past and each time I end up with red, tender eyes that sting when I blink and discharge that comes out of the inner and outer corners. It’s been devastating to accept this defeat. I have very, very short lashes that I feel like you can barely see. I’m no good at applying the strips on my own, so I just started to feel like all hope was lost for me. That was until Face Foundrie slid in my DMs to tell me that they had just opened up a new location in Birmingham, MI and wanted to offer me a complimentary service!

I took a look at their service menu and saw that they do lash extensions as well as lash lifts and tints. Since I knew the former was out of the question, I decided to give the lash lift and tint a try. Before I get into the process of the service, I’ll talk about the space. It’s super cute and clean, the staff was friendly, and my lash tech, Savannah, really knew her stuff. She was even training someone while she was working on me. I felt like I was in good hands!

Okay, now onto the actual service. If I could think of something to compare a lash lift to, I would say it’s similar. to getting your brows laminated. With a lash lift, you’re basically getting your lashes permed and curled. Then, after they’re curled, a tint will be applied to make your lashes appear darker and fuller.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that my lashes actually looked more prominent! Because my lashes are so short, I was curious to see how much of a difference the lift would make, but they ended up looking great in the end! And most importantly, I did not have any adverse reactions to the products that were used.

I’m glad to know that I’m able to get this service done with no issue. I haven’t made it a part of my monthly beauty routine just yet, but I’ll definitely be getting them done for special occasions or even when I just want a little pick-me-up.

Would you or have you ever tried a last lift before? Let’s chat in the comments!
